The Chamber Singers received $100,000 from an anonymous donor to establish a Choir Tour Endowment Fund. We are grateful for this generous gift and support of our students.
The choir tour is not funded by the university, however it is part of the Chamber Singers’ performance schedule each year. Students are required to participate and must pay to cover their expenses. The establishment of the endowment fund will directly off-set the students’ costs.
The annual Spring Choir Tour is a highlight in the Chamber Singers’ calendar. These trips connect students with alumni, trustees, family while performing in great spaces. Previous tours include performances in New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., West Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
Transportation is our largest expense. Rising fuel costs challenge the budget process with charter bus rates frequently changing. We keep housing costs down by staying in host homes, churches, or quad hotel rooms. Celebrate 150 years of great choral music at Queens by contributing to the Choir Tour Endowment Fund. The Chamber Singers represent Queens at its best with outstanding concerts, exceptional students, and lifetime friendships. Simply designate your financial gift to the Choir Tour Endowment.
Know that you do make a difference in the lives of these students. Many of you have graciously invited us to sing at your church, school, and communities. We treasure meeting you, sharing meals, and staying in your homes. Continue telling others about us–we are always looking for host sites.
