· On a second page, type an executive briefing (see back) that highlights your skills as they relate to the stated requirements. For example, if one of the requirements is a high school diploma, you may indicate that you graduated high school with a 3.8 GPA and are currently a sophomore at Queens University of Charlotte. If another requirement is good oral communication skills, you might indicate that you trained three servers while working at Outback Steakhouse. If the position does not state any specific requirements, think about skill that might be associated with the position and create your own list. (20 points)
· On a third page, write a STAR Story that relates to a transferable skill necessary for the internship opportunity. Utilize the STAR format (Situation, Task, Action, Result) making sure that the example is one worth mentioning in an interview. Hint: During an interview, you are often asked to talk about your skills or strengths; this might be a good time to tell a star story. When verbalizing a STAR story you may be able to combine the situation and task into one sentence and focus primarily on your actions and the result. (20 points)
· On a fourth page, type a list of 5-10 appropriate questions to ask. When going to an interview, these questions would be written in a portfolio or notebook. Good interview questions can be found on the Internet or in your Job Choices magazine. You may have questions that relate specifically to the internship opportunity or more general questions about the organization that you may want to ask every employer. Stay away from questions dealing with money or benefits in a first round interview. This item will also be required for your actual mock interview. (5 points)
· Bring a copy of your resume and list of questions to the interview.
