Campus Planning & Services

Sodexo continually strives to enhance the quality of daily life through our services and systems.  We have the unique opportunity to share our philosophy of being good stewards with the Queens University of Charlotte community.  The Campus Services Department actively uses products and services that reduce strain on health and environment.  In addition, we are always looking for new and better ways to serve our community and help support the sustainability of our environment.

Green Seal Chemicals

We are committed to Green Cleaning and all chemicals have been transferred to Green Seal Chemicals.  By using Green Seal chemicals and paper products will limit the demand of raw materials that are used in production.  For more details on our Green Cleaning process check out our Sodexo Green Initiatives page.

Energy Management System

Campus Services manages the campus Energy Management System which controls the HVAC systems throughout campus.  By controlling when and where heating and air conditioning is provided on campus we are able to capture valuable savings on utility costs.  The system automates heating or cooling as necessary for routine campus functions and is manipulated to provide support for Special Events.

Recyclable Materials

The Queens Recycling Program collects paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, aluminum and steel.  Queens faculty, staff and students are expected from time to time to deposit their recycle materials in the larger containers that we have placed across campus.  The Recycling Team checks the recycling bins across campus at least 2 times per week.
