New! Beyond Gracias: A Course in Practical Spanish
Feel confident, appreciated and savvy. No prior knowledge of Spanish is required. Learn essential phrases, vocabulary, pronunciation, and basic language structures. Whether your need is for pleasure, business, education or community service; come prepared to speak and learn through practice. You will visit one of the area's Latino businesses or cultural venues.
Instructor: Maddy Baer holds an MBA and an MS Ed.. For over 30 years she has used her knowledge of Spanish in business, cultural, educational and social service.

This course is designed for students with little or no exposure to the Chinese language. Students will be introduced to fundamental vocabulary, grammar, speaking skills & cultural traits that will allow them to communicate.
Instructor Yin Han has been Chinese porfessor at Queens University of Charlotte & Central Piedmont Community College since 2004. She is a native Mandrin speaker & author of "Meimei zai hua shen me?" a learning Chinese book.

Bring your singing outside the shower! Learn how the voice works; basic anatomy for singers; technique including breath control/support, diction and musicality; and learn how to interpret a song for performance. Class participants will sing together and individually in an encouraging and fun environment.
Instructor: Julie Martin Dean, singer and teacher. Julie has a B.M. in voice from Queens University and a M.M. from Withrop University; is a member of the Opera Carolina Chorus and the National Assoc. of Teachers of Singing; and was certified this summer at the Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Institute of Shenandoah University.

'POP' Voice Pedagogy for Trained Singers
This class is designed for voice teachers and/or experienced singers wishing to learn voice technique and styles specific to Pop, Jazz, Music Theature, R&B, and Rock 'n Roll. This class is not for beginners. Participants should prepare two (2) songs to sing (bring sheet music).

Digital Photography
Gain basic digital photography skills, applicable to everyday settings in this course. Learn basic camera operations and functionality along with photography techniques involving light, composition, creative approaches, computer storage and file storage.

Whether you are a beginner, someone who wants to brush up on their game or learn new skills, there is a tennis class that will meet your needs. In Beginner Tennis, you will learn basic stroke techniques: forehand, backhand, volley, and serve. In Intermediate Tennis, you will learn patterns of play: singles and doubles, serves and return of serves.
Instructor: Charles Gordon, USPTR certified with 20-year tennis instructing experience, former Queens coach

QUEENS CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: In order to receive a refund, less a $50 processing fee, you must withdraw from a class in writing at least 10 working days prior to the start of the course.
