Honors Program

Admission to Honors Program: 

There are two ways to be accepted into the Honors Program of Queens University of Charlotte. 

The first is to be invited as an incoming freshman, based on a high school record of outstanding academic performance and motivation.  A limited number of incoming students are invited each year to join the Honors Program during the fall of their freshman year.

The second is to achieve a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or better at Queens.  If you have this level of GPA after any semester (including your first), you will be accepted (upon application) into the Honors Program.

To remain eligible for the Honors Program, you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 for courses taken at Queens.

 

Completion of the Honors Program:

 

1. Complete any three Honors seminars prior to graduation:

 

HONR 110 3 credits History's Mysteries (Freshmen Only)
HONR 210 3 credits Honors Seminar – Varying topics

     (may be retaken for credit)

HONR 220 3 credits Honors Seminar – Varying topics

     (may be retaken for credit)

 

 

2. Complete all of the following:

 

HONR 310 2 credits Introduction to the Honors Thesis– fall semester junior year
HONR 320 2-3 credits Honors Thesis I – spring semester junior year
HONR 410 3 credits Honors Thesis II – fall semester senior year
HONR 420 1 credit Giving Back – fall or spring semester senior year

 

Total Credits = 17-18
