Senior year is an exciting, vibrant time as students transition to life after college and all its offerings! In 2002, faculty, staff, seniors and juniors joined to create the Senior Year Experience Committee to celebrate the undergraduate experience and implement strategies for a smoother transition to life after college. The Committee's purpose is to bring closure to the undergraduate experience, provide seniors with a time to reflect on the meaning of the college experience, and facilitate the transition for post-college life. Senior Year Experience (SYE) strives to share important graduation information, coordinate educational programs concerning transition and career development, and plan celebratory activities throughout the senior year.
The SYE is designed to:
- Coordinate and inform students of on-campus senior year celebratory events and programs. Senior Week hosts a Senior Cookout, Yacht Cruise, and Brunch at the President's Home
- Provide students with resources for post-graduate needs such as: insurance, housing options, and finance management
- Assistance with resume preparation, interview techniques, professional apparel and business world etiquette
- Explore what it means to be a "Queens Alum" and the upcoming opportunities and advantages
- Helpful hints and insights to living on your own... and many other topics!
SYE meetings are open to anyone in the Queens community. Current Queens students may access the SYE calendar on the Student Life tab found on the Queens Portal. Those interested in serving on the SYE Committee, or have an idea to share... Contact Mary Norris at 704 337-2255. |
