The Education Department offers an academic major in education leading to North Carolina Elementary Teacher Licensure (K-6). Students majoring in English, mathematics, biology, social studies or history may choose a concentration leading to North Carolina Secondary Teacher Licensure (9-12). Students majoring in Foreign Language may choose a concentration leading to North Carolina Teacher Licensure (K-12). All programs are approved by the state of North Carolina.

Careers of recent graduates:
Teachers graduating from Queens are in demand locally, nationally and abroad. Characteristics of good teachers, such as intelligence, strong communication and organization skills, maturity and professionalism, can also be transferred to careers in administrative management, marketing, public relations and sales.
