The Interior Design Minor is available to undergraduate evening students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree, who have the option of studying a minor outside of their major discipline. Students who already hold a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution may also enroll in coursework on a non-degree basis.

ARDE 201 Fundamentals of Interior Design I. This course introduces the field of interior design including the history of furniture, elements and principles of design, and space planning. 3 hrs.
ARDE 202 Fundamentals of Interior Design II. This course covers physical needs and social dynamics and how we make ourselves comfortable and organize the spaces in which we live. 3 hrs.
ARDE 301 Textiles in Interior Design. This course covers the elements and principles of design within a textile. Hands on studio exercises using textiles as the art form. Advanced exploration of printed and woven fabrics. 3 hrs.
ARDE 302 Color and Light for the Environment. The study of color and light as elements of interior design.. The course will include psychology of color and its application and how color and light work.. 3 hrs.
ARDE 401 Product Design. This course will require a student to resolve a functional design problem related to an interior space. Students will work through the problem using working drawings that will result in a three-dimensional product. Prerequisites: ARDE 201 and ARDE 202. 3 hrs.
ARDE 400 Topics in Interior Design. This course provides the opportunity for a group of students to explore with faculty a topic that is not offered on a regular basis in the curriculum. Topics will be announced prior to the term. Prerequisites: ART 101, ARDE 201, ARDE 202. Credit may vary with topic. 1, 2, or 3 hours.
ARDE 450 Independent Study in Interior Design.This course allows an individual student to explore a topic with a faculty member. Open to juniors or seniors with a grade point average of 3.0 or above. Credit may vary. 1,2 or 3 hours.
ART 412 Idea Development. This course is designed to help students develop ideas into mature artistic expressions. Students will be required to work through an idea in at least five different mediums. Prerequisites: Studio or design experience approved by the instructor. 3 hrs.
