Hayworth hands-on learning
The professors at Hayworth College, most of whom are currently practicing interior designers, take theories off the page and bring them into real life.  Students in the major get a firm foundation in design principles.  They learn how the principles fit into the local, regional and global marketplace.  Hayworth students get first-hand experience applying principles learned in the classrooms during internships, field trips and independent studies.

The program at Hayworth is committed to opening the world of interior design to students.  Students can combine their classroom studies with Charlotte area resources - furniture in High Point, textiles, nationally known architects, outstanding home builders - for a richer learning experience. 

International travel
Students also have an opportunity to learn about interior design in different countries.  Classes have traveled to London, Venice and Paris to study.  While the trips focus on interior design, the Hayworth travelers also are immersed in the country’s art, history and drama.

Career opportunities
Graduates are prepared for a broad career in interior design or can direct their career in very specialized areas like residential, commercial, institutional, retail or healthcare design.  Hayworth students also work with architects, home builders and even theatre companies.
