Sharpening a world view
For students who want a better roadmap for navigating our diverse, multicultural world, Hayworth College offers a minor in Sociology-Anthropology.
Sociology examines group life in society’s institutions while anthropology explores the larger picture of human societies and their cultures. For Hayworth students, the sociology courses focus more on the social institutions in the United States. Classes in anthropology take a detailed cross-cultural approach. Each student is afforded a broader understanding of how societies are structured, their characteristics and consequences of how they function.
The knowledge gained from a Sociology-Anthropology minor will help any student whose career is impacted by global influences. The courses will supplement any major with a clearer picture of American society as well as how individuals and groups in different cultures interact to form our modern world.
