How people connect in organizations…all organizations
After only a few minutes into the first Organizational Communication class, it will be obvious to a Hayworth student that everything learned today will be useful today.
Organizations of all sizes depend on clear communication to get diverse groups of employees to work together, mitigate conflict, seize market opportunities, grow and prosper. The same organizations also need to be able to tell their story effectively to customers and people in the communities where they do business.
Whether a person is pitching a new product idea, chairing a meeting, managing an employee team, talking to customers or prospects - even discussing the day’s events at the family dinner table, understanding the communication process is critical.
Unlimited application
Clear, concise communication is an essential tool for managers, sales professionals, HR experts, administrative assistants, corporate communicators - almost every organizational position. The knowledge of the communication process a Hayworth student gets from the classroom will apply to every job and every industry. The skills and insights will help a student open new doors, take advantage of better opportunities and increase his or her earnings potential.
Communicating in the classroom
Organizational Communication courses are taught in a discussion-based learning environment by professors who share real world applications based on years of industry experience. And, with a room full of adult learners, peer-to-peer exchanges based on life and work experiences add to textbook theories.
The professors understand the demands on adult learners’ time and set convenient office hours to fit students’ schedules. After only a few class sessions, it will be obvious that faculty members are committed to building one-on-one relationships with their students.
Candidates for a Bachelor’s, who have a passion for a specific area of communications, can do an independent study. There are also opportunities for internships in area organizations.
A Hayworth graduate
Armed with a Queens Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication, a graduate is prepared to make a mark in almost any career field, in any industry…and every aspect of life. A skilled communicator will always be in demand.
