Queens University Alumni Association Welcomes 10 New Board Members

Ten new board members have been selected to serve three-year terms on the alumni association board of Queens University of Charlotte.

The alumni board is the governing body for the Queens Alumni Association. With the primary goal to promote the mission and welfare of Queens University of Charlotte, the board facilitates a mutually beneficial relationship between the university and its alumni by providing forums for the exchange of information and ideas, involving alumni in the life of the University, and encouraging alumni support of the university.

The new members include:

Chessa Beebe ’18, of Charlotte, NC, manager of employee experience communications at Sterling, a leading provider of background and identity services.

Lindsey Collins ’11, of Charlotte, NC, public transit lead for Liftango who develops and drives business development efforts with public transit agencies across North America.

Olivia Jones ’09, of Winston Salem, NC, physician assistant at Wake Forest Baptist working within health internal medicine: hematology and oncology.

Taylor Pinckney ’17, of Charlotte, NC, freelance advocacy, communication and project management specialist currently serving as a digital phone bank specialist for Our Revolution, a think tank organization continuing the legacy of the Bernie 2016 presidential campaign.

Martha Runkle ’06, of Charlotte, NC, community volunteer with a background as a senior MBA recruiter for Wells Fargo Securities.

Sianneth Sanchez ’07, of Charlotte, NC, clinical quality assurance auditor at Healthfirst, a provider-sponsored health insurance company serving 1.8 million members.

Emily Sherman ’96, of Cornelius, NC, senior product manager for Bank of America where she has held various roles during her tenure – primarily in technology program management, governance, and business controls.

DeVin Taylor ’16, MA ’19, of Chicago, IL, senior analyst at Accenture and a Master’s in Public Policy & Administration Candidate at Northwestern University.

Zach Trammel ’16, of Herndon, VA, program manager/eldercare locator and the Disability Information and Access Line (DIAL) at USAging.

Ashleigh Triplett ’07, Washington, DC, program analyst, United States Air Force.

“Queens alumni near and far will benefit from the diverse perspectives from this incoming class of ten new board members,” said Ericka Ellis-Stewart ’96. Alumni board president. “I look forward to having board members help us re-establish regional chapters for alumni and friends in the years ahead, especially with the university’s move to Division I athletics.”

The Queens Alumni Association Board represents the broad range of alumni, both undergraduate and graduate, in Charlotte, across the Carolinas, and around the world. Currently 50 alumni support and inform the work of University Advancement on the board with members serving three-year terms. Ericka Ellis-Stewart ’96 serves as president, David Patterson ’94 serves as president-elect, and Vernette Ricker ’94 MS ’11 serves as secretary.

“I am grateful to Ericka Ellis-Stewart, for leading the effort to recruit new members and help make the full board more representative of the current demographics of the Queen alumni population,” said Robert Koch, senior director of engagement and giving at Queens University. “Having younger voices included in this board with be a constructive addition, along with women from the Queens College era and graduates from the 1990s.”
