Michael Kutnak, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Mike Kutnak enjoys working with students and teaching all levels of math courses. He joined the faculty at Queens in 2019.
Dr. Kutnak has a wealth of administrative and faculty experience at the college level. Prior to serving at Queens, Dr. Kutnak was both a faculty member and administrator at Virgina Tech. There, he served in an administrative capacity in the Office for Equity and Accessibility as the University ADA and Accessibility Specialist. As a faculty member Dr. Kutnak taught Graduate Students courses related to the history of higher education in the United States for the Higher Education Department. He began his career in higher education at Piedmont Virginia Community College serving as an administrator within their academic assistance programs and as a faculty member teaching first year experience and mathematics courses. He has also worked within the for-profit higher education sector, serving as an Enrollment Advisor for the University of Phoenix.
Dr. Kutnak’s research interests include disability in higher education, college student development theory, the use of space in higher education, and applications of mathematical principles in educational research. He is currently a member of ACPA College Educators International and MENSA.
