Melissa Gamez, M.S.
Biography
Melissa Gamez is an assistant professor in the Graphic Design program and Director of Graphic Design and Studio Art at Queens University. She is also the principal designer at Gamez Creative in Charlotte, North Carolina, a graphic and web design company that creates visual solutions for branding, layout, photography, illustration, packaging, social media, and animation.
Gamez has worked both nationally and internationally in the fields of architecture, video games, television commercials, photography, graphic design, web design and academia. While working at Will Vinton Studios (now Laika), she contributed to national advertising campaigns for M&M Mars, Tropicana, Bayer, Hallmark and Clorox Bleach. She also created gaming environments for multiple platforms at Electronic Arts/Westwood Studios.
She is interested in all aspects of visual design and image making, but is focused on image manipulation, mixed media, and digital collage. Her artwork has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and she has previously taught at the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, the Art Institute of Charlotte, and the University of Las Vegas, Nevada.
