Nancy Davis Johnson, Ph.D.

Biography

Dr. Nancy Davis Johnson is a clinical psychologist with a concentration in child and adolescent psychology and also in public health. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the University of South Florida/Florida Mental Health Institute, with a focus on assessment and therapy for families and children in hospital, clinical and school settings. Dr. Johnson’s previous clinical work focused on assessment and diagnostic consultations for mental health services and juvenile justice settings.

Dr. Johnson teaches courses in general psychology, abnormal psychology, counseling, information literacy, service, and family. She enjoys working in interdisciplinary studies and taught in the Core Program in the Liberal Arts and the Critical Thoughts Symposium at Queens and in honors leadership courses prior to her work at Queens. She serves in the Royal Advising program.

Her research interests include Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, grief and loss, children’s mental health, public mental health, parenting, service, and teaching. She has served as department chair of the Psychology Department at Queens.

A native of Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Johnson is a dedicated fan of the University of Alabama and prone to include “Roll Tide” in class discussion and everyday conversation.
