Biography

Tracey Rich Perez teaches First-Year Writing in the General Education Program. She enjoys working with first-year students as they develop as both writers and learners. In addition to First Year Writing, she also teaches courses on the storytelling traditions of fairytales and folklore. In her General Education course, Tracey facilitates a student community engagement storytelling project with local cancer survivors.

Tracey has also taught a course on fairytales for a local non-profit organization, Charlotte Lit (Charlotte Center for Literary Arts) as well as facilitating writing courses for Carolina Breast Friends (a non-profit providing resources and support for breast cancer survivors and thrives).

Tracey enjoys hanging out with her adult sons (especially when they cook for her), playing mah-jongg, reading speculative fiction, and binge-watching historical fantasy series.
