Yvette Clifton, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Yvette Clifton joined Queens faculty as Assistant Professor in 2018. She teaches chemistry courses which include the general chemistry sequence, thermodynamics and quantum mechanics as well as multiple courses in the General Education program. She enjoys teaching from a global perspective and leading International Study Abroad trips. As a dedicated student-success supporter, Dr. Clifton is a THRIVE mentor for Queens Summer Bridge Program, an advocate for First-Generation students, and serves as a Royal Academic Advisor for incoming first-year undergraduates.
Dr. Clifton is a passionate educator who focuses on student-centered learning. Her research interests revolve around improving student performance. She actively publishes in SoTL (Scholarship of Teaching & Learning) Journals.
In her free time, Dr. Clifton enjoys stand-up paddle boarding, decorating spaces (indoors & outdoors), and going on pack walks with her dog.
