Pre-Dental Program
Pre-Dental Program
What You’ll Study
Dental health is crucial to a person’s overall health and well-being. It affects a person’s diet, speech, and even confidence. At Queens, you bring the passion, and we equip you with an exceptional foundation in the sciences and the liberal arts for becoming a compassionate dentist. Studying in one of the fastest-growing cities in the country will give you access to ample shadowing and research opportunities to elevate your experience and boost your confidence as you head off to dental school.
Benefits of This Program
The pre-dental program at Queens does not require you to major in a specific department. As a pre-dental student, you receive specialized faculty advice on the path to dental school. Curious about what extracurriculars look best on an application or need feedback on application materials? Your faculty advisor will guide you throughout your journey at Queens, making sure you take the right classes you need to apply to the school of your choice.
After graduating from dental school, most dentists begin general practice. You may also choose to specialize in orthodontics, oral pathology, or pediatric dentistry. If you are interested in careers outside of private practice, you can pursue jobs in fields such as:
- Dental Education
- Forensic dentistry
- Dental surgery
- Dental public health
- Dental product industry
