Sociology

Build Cultural Awareness, Develop Analytical Skills, Learn to Question Assumptions

In the Queens’ Sociology program, you’ll discover the complexities of human society, culture, and behavior. As a sociology major, you will learn to question assumptions, evaluate evidence and data, and develop evidence-based arguments. Many of you may also choose to take on an additional major or minor to amplify your academic experience. When you graduate, you will be ready to put your knowledge to work in a variety of fields, from social work and counseling to data analytics and public policy.
