Queens University of Charlotte Celebrates International Education Week
This week, Queens University of Charlotte celebrates International Education Week! With a large community of international students on campus and robust study abroad opportunities, Queens has long been a proponent of international education. The annual, collective celebration serves as an outward expression of Queens’ institutional commitment to promote global understanding and celebrate the diversity that makes the university so special.
Nestled within the full schedule of programming taking place throughout the week are a few events hosted by students and faculty from various countries.
Valentina Gil Giron ’26 | Costa Rica | Studio Art Major
Interfaith Inspired Art Presentation and Class | Tuesday, November 15 from 10:40-11:40 a.m. in the Trexler Courtyard
Valentina Gil Giron will reveal a new art piece designed with the fusion of her Costa Rican heritage and the Queens Interfaith vision. Following the presentation is a “Paint & Sip” art class where participants will create their own piece of art.
Shareefah (Shari) Alarab ’24 | Saudi Arabia | Graphic Design Major
QU- Queens University Art Highlight Your Home | Thursday, November 17 from 10:40-11:40 a.m. at the Trexler Courtyard
Shari Alarab will present a “QU” digital design centered around her Saudi Arabian culture. Following the reveal, participants will be invited to paint/ mark their country on a large campus map before enjoying a holiday meal at “Queensgiving” inside the Young Dining Hall.

Soccer Skills Class |Friday, November 18 from 11-11:30 a.m. on the Levine Lawn
Coach Oliver Carias will teach the basics of soccer in an interactive technique lesson.
