Biography

After graduating from Hastings Law School (University of California) in 1984, Paul practiced in diverse areas of corporate law for 34 years including the last 20 years in Charlotte working for Duke Energy. Paul retired from Duke Energy in 2018.

As an adjunct instructor at the McColl School of Business at Queens since 2015, Paul has enjoyed teaching 26 courses (through 2023) in Business Ethics, Business Communications, and Applied Decision-Making. Paul also has taught Business Law at Central Piedmont Community College and, after earning an M.A. in history at UNC Charlotte in 2020, also teaches as an adjunct instructor in the History Department at UNC Charlotte. Finally, Paul serves on a regular basis as a pro bono attorney for Legal Aid of North Carolina.
