Food Pantry

Belk Chapel

Given the rising cost of living—especially the high cost of groceries—we understand that it can be difficult—and sometimes impossible—to make ends meet. We also know this can lead to members of our campus community experiencing food insecurity. Spiritual Life at Queens maintains a food pantry available to students, staff, and faculty at no cost. Individuals can stop by to pick up items as needed. The food pantry is inside Belk Chapel (in the corridor next to the rotunda and behind the sanctuary).

For questions about access, hours, and available items, contact Adrian Bird, University Chaplain (birda@queens.edu).

Lactation Space

Members of the campus community and visitors to Queens University of Charlotte have access to a lactation space located just outside Knight-Crane Hall, Room 101 (just past the elevator). The space, which is lockable for privacy, includes a table, a comfortable chair, a sink, and a mini fridge for storage.

Gender-Inclusive Housing

Barnhardt Residence Hall

In an effort to meet the needs of transgender and non-binary students, their allies, and students who may feel more comfortable or safe with suitemates of different gender identities, Residence Life & Housing offers intentionally gender-inclusive housing in Barnhardt Residence Hall. Barnhardt has a communal-style bathroom that includes single-stall, lockable restrooms available to people of all genders and sexes. Each single stall includes a shower, sink, and toilet. Students who are interested in gender-inclusive housing at Queens should select this option on the housing application.
