Federal Work-Study is a federally funded program designed to provide part-time employment for undergraduate students who demonstrate financial need. At Queens, students who qualify for FWS through the financial aid process receive priority consideration for on-campus jobs. The priority hiring period runs from mid-July through late August. FWS students can apply for jobs through Workday, where a variety of departments offer employment opportunities throughout the academic year. Additionally, a job fair is held at the start of each semester to connect students with potential employers on campus.

Who Can Work On Campus?
All students at Queens University of Charlotte are eligible for on-campus employment, regardless of their financial aid status. However, students who receive Federal Work-Study (FWS) awards are given priority for job opportunities. Before beginning any on-campus job, all students must complete the necessary employment paperwork.
International students may have restrictions on employment based on their visa status. Those with an F-1 visa are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session and up to 29 hours per week during academic breaks. Employment opportunities are limited to on-campus jobs unless special authorization is granted by the Department of Homeland Security. For more information and guidance, international students are encouraged to contact the Office of International Student Services at Queens. Faculty and staff seeking assistance with hiring F-1 visa international students can also reach out for additional resources on the International Student Services website.
Current hourly student pay rates are Student Employee ($9) and Senior Student Employee ($10).
