Sports Complex & Conference Center
Conveniently located in the Madison Park neighborhood and nestled behind a bank of trees along 2229 Tyvola Road, the Queens Sports Complex at Marion Diehl Park is one of the largest athletic venues in the region. Its 65 acres offer a world-class multi-sport championship field, a cross-country course, a grass practice field, and a 14,000-square-foot conference center.
The complex is the home field for seven Royals athletics teams. It also provides an excellent location for regional, national, and NCAA-sanctioned sporting events, and has already served as a host site for the State Games of North Carolina. One field is adaptable for use by disabled athletes.
The sports complex also offers a convenient, modern conference location with abundant parking for Charlotte area businesses planning off-site events. The 300-seat meeting facility can be configured for awards dinners, business events, or receptions.
Finally, the Sports Complex is home to Rex, the world’s largest standing lion sculpture.
The Stick Williams Dream Fields
The Stick Williams Dream Fields serve as the home playing fields for the Queens baseball and softball teams. In 2019, Queens partnered with the Knothole Foundation of the Carolinas to help bring underserved children from West Charlotte back into the game of baseball through athletic and educational programming. Attached to the Queens locker rooms, a large facility features three batting cages with state-of-the-art equipment, including radar guns, weightlifting equipment, and more.
