What is Royal Kickoff? Royal Kickoff is an institutional effort originating from student feedback that recommended an earlier move-in with intentional programming to connect with fellow students and settle onto campus before classes start. This extended orientation program is designed to help incoming students smoothly transition to college life. Taking place several days before the fall semester begins, new students move into their residence halls, get familiar with the campus, and engage in various social events, service activities, and success seminars. These activities are tailored to prepare students for the academic challenges and social experiences of college for first-year, transfer, and new international students.
Please have your students check their email for the full schedule of events for Royal Kickoff!
Encourage your students to attend the Welcome Back Coffee and Resource Fair on August 25 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There, they can meet representatives from departments, academic programs, and organizations and introduce themselves to new and returning students. Help them learn more about our campus, discover available resources, and find ways to get involved! The Resource Fair is one of the first steps in a student’s involvement journey.
