Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) K-12 Graduate Certificate
Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) K-12 Graduate Certificate
Meet Our Program
Effective teachers must meet the complex and diverse needs of all learners. With this certificate, you will learn to design and deliver effective programs and services for gifted and talented students. Our knowledgeable faculty will teach you research-based strategies and the applications of these strategies for today’s schools.
At Queens, you’ll work directly with faculty who have decades of teaching and research experience and have been in your current position as K-12 educators as well as coaches, facilitators, specialty leaders, and administrators. As professional developers, they work with school administrators and teachers in local districts and schools. This ensures they keep current on standards, best practices, and recent education trends.
Our certificate program prepares teachers to obtain an Academically/Intellectually Gifted (K-12) Education add-on licensure to their North Carolina teaching license. It also aligns with Standards for AIG Teacher Candidates, North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards, and Standards for Graduate Teacher Candidates.

Student Highlights
“I love the community feel of attending classes in person and being able to form bonds with other teachers and professors. It is also much easier to ask questions, get clarification, and collaborate in person than it is on an online forum.”
– Student from 2023 AIG Certificate
