Fitness Testing Program
The Exercise & Sport Sciences Laboratory offers fitness assessments for all Queens students, staff, and faculty for FREE and to community members for $40.00.
The fitness assessment includes:
- VO2max (with anaerobic threshold estimation),
- resting metabolic rate,
- total energy expenditure,
- body composition (lean muscle mass distribution), and
- hydration.
This program is operated by Exercise & Sport Science student interns. A brief consultation on results is included. Fitness consulting to reach or maintain fitness goals is included.

Laboratory Director
Dr. Amy Knab is the Exercise & Sport Sciences Laboratory Director in the Health and Human Performance Department, Queens University of Charlotte. Dr. Knab has a broad background in physiology and nutrition. Her current research involves investigating metabolic markers of training stress in collegiate athletes, and methods to facilitate recovery. Dr. Knab works closely with student interns in the lab on both research and community testing.
