Tax Consultant, Deloitte

Major: Accounting

“My time at Queens was filled with wonderful experiences that helped me achieve personal and professional growth. As a student-athlete, I had a great time on the triathlon team as well as in the classroom. All the classes provided by Queens are super hands-on and the professors are enthusiastic about teaching. The accounting classes were especially useful as we worked on a variety of Excel and tax return projects that prepared me for success in my current role at Deloitte. On top of it all, the career office hosts so many events and opportunities that help students network and build stronger resumes.”

“Queens encouraged me to pursue my passions and helped me find unique and innovative ways to do so. I had the opportunity to study abroad in Greece, experience an internship at Lowe’s, participate in Model NATO and Arab League conferences, and research historical topics of interest. Ph.D. Candidate, Health Informatics, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill & Oncology Clinical Trial Data Scientist, Novant Health

Major: Health Educations and Promotion

“Queens played a pivotal role in preparing me for both my continued education and professional career. The university’s strong emphasis on career readiness instilled in me a mindset of excellence early on. I utilized resources like dedicated faculty, peer tutoring, and valuable networking opportunities, all of which have had a profound impact on my career thus far. I also believe not many students at other institutions can say they found a mentor through an introductory chemistry course, but that’s exactly how I met Dr. Clifton, who continues to guide me today.”

I am grateful for the resources offered through the career office, especially the industry-focused networking events and connections to the financial world of Charlotte and beyond.”
