May 9 at 10:00 a.m. – New Student Room Selection Application OPENS
May 30 at 11:59 p.m. – Priority Deadline for New Student Housing Application
June 3 at 10:00 a.m. – Priority housing selection OPENS through Self-Service.*
June 6 at 10:00 a.m. – General New Student Room Selection OPENS through Self-Service.*

*Transfer students are not required to live on campus.

  • Once a student has selected a room, they can select meal plans through Self-Service.
  • You must have already created your Queens account to access your Self-Service and participate in any housing processes.
  • Students will automatically be eligible to start searching for roommates upon completion of the housing application. Students who have not completed the housing application are not searchable by other students.

What if I complete my application after May 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.?

Students who complete their housing applications after May 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m., will be eligible to:

  • Search for roommates upon completion of their application.
  • Log into Self-Service beginning June 6, 2025, to select your residence hall room.
  • Once a student has selected a room, they can select a meal plan.

Prior to participating in new student room selection, you must complete the following:

1. Complete your new student room application and sign your housing contract online via the Self-Service website beginning May 9. Please note – if you are under 18 at the time you are completing the application, you will need Parent/Legal Guardian permission before your application is considered complete. See “Important Notes” for instructions to receive the verification email.

  • Students who complete their application by May 30, will have priority access to begin selecting their residence hall room as early as June 3.
  • Students who complete their housing application after May 30, will be eligible to begin selecting their residence hall room as early as June 6.

2. Match with your roommate(s) on the Self-Service website. Please make sure you and your potential roommate(s) have completed the new student room application and contract in step #1 before trying to match in Self-Service. You are not required to create a roommate group.

Priority Selection

If you’ve completed your application by May 30, you are able to select your room on your Self-Service website on June 3 at 10 a.m. – June 4 at 5 p.m. If you miss this opportunity, you can select your room during General Room Selection.

General Selection

If you complete your new student room application and contract anytime after May 31, you will be able to select your residence hall room on your Self-Service website, June 6 at 10 a.m. – August 12 at 5 p.m.

Additional Details

  • All room selections are based on a first-come-first-served basis. You can select a room at anytime during your selection window.
  • If you created a roommate group, one person in your group can select housing on behalf of the group from the available options.
    • Housing selection is a live process, so you need to have alternate plans if your group’s first choice is not available.

As students select their housing, they may select their meal plan for the upcoming academic year. Students who do not select a meal plan by August 12, will automatically be enrolled for the 17 meal per week plan.

Housing Selection Terms

Students who have completed their housing application any time after May 30 are able to self-select their housing assignment for the academic year on a rolling basis starting June 6. Room availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Students complete their housing application, student profile and sign the Housing Contract.

If a student completes their application by May 30, they are eligible to select a room at an earlier time (priority housing selection).

Students that have completed their application by May 30, self-select their housing assignment for the academic year on June 3 & 4. Room availability is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A student’s ability to search and match with other students that have also completed their Housing Application to create roommate/suitemate groups. All parties must match and accept requests from each other on their own self-service in order to complete their group.
