Welcome back, Royals! We’re so excited to have you return to Queens for another incredible year. This webpage is your go-to guide for everything you need to successfully participate in the housing selection process and continue your journey on campus with us!

2025-2026 Timeline

  • Wednesday, February 19 at 9:30 a.m. – Returning Student Housing Application OPENS
  • Wednesday, March 12 at 11:59 p.m. – Returning Student Housing Application CLOSES
  • Thursday, March 13 at 9:30 a.m. – Late Returning Student Housing Application OPENS
  • Monday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m. – Assigned housing selection time slot released for students in General Room Selection
  • Monday, March 31 at 10:00 a.m. – Presidential Scholar & CTI Student Room Selection OPENS*
  • Wednesday, April 2 at 10:00 a.m. – General Room Selection OPENS 
  • Friday, April 4 at 5:00 p.m. – General Room Selection CLOSES 
  • Monday, April 7 at 12:00 p.m. – Late Room Selection OPENS 
  • Tuesday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. – Late Housing Application & Room Selection CLOSES & Deadline to Select a Meal Plan

*Students participating in these room selection processes will have until 5 p.m. the following day to select their housing during their selection window.

Additional Notes

Students who submit their Housing Application after March 13 will be added to the Late Room Selection process. These students will not be able to match with roommates and must select from rooms that are left available after General Room Selection has concluded.

Residence Life will not hold rooms or move students out of rooms they have fairly selected.

If you wish to change rooms with someone, you may reach out to your current roommate to ask if they are willing to swap with your desired roommate or you can choose to change rooms to live together. If students have agreed to a room swap/change, they must contact Residence Life to confirm the room assignment updates.

Attempts to discourage, refuse, or intimidate a potential or newly assigned roommate may result in disciplinary action as a violation of the Honor Code.

Prior to participating in returning student room selection, you must complete the following:

  • Complete your returning student room application and sign your housing contract online via the Self-Service website. The housing application opens Feb. 19, 2025, and closes on March 12, 2025.
  • Match with your roommate(s) or suitemate(s) on the Self-Service website starting March 14. Please make sure you and all of your potential roommate(s) or suitemate(s) have completed the returning student room application and contract in step #1 before trying to match in Self Service.
  • Once you have decided on roommate(s) or suitemate(s), you must match with each other on the Self-Service website. You are not required to create a roommate or suitemate group.

Once you have completed your returning student room application and contract, you will be assigned a sign-up time (see note below) for Phase Two where you will select your specific room assignment.

Beginning, Monday, March 24 at 5:00 p.m., you will have access to check your assigned sign-up time on the Self-Service website. The person in your group with the earliest sign-up time will be the first to be able to log in and select housing on behalf of the fully matched group from the available options.

Sign-up times are based on anticipated credits for Fall 2024 and will be prioritized in that order for General Room Selection.

If you have a roommate or suitemate group, the person in the group with the first assigned sign-up time will select housing assignment locations for the entire group.

Housing selection is a live process, so you need to have alternate plans if your group’s first choice is not available.

Once you’ve selected your housing, students will have access to select their meal plan for the upcoming academic year on the Self-Service website. Students who do not select a meal plan by April 29, 2025, will automatically be enrolled for the 17 meal per week plan.

Important note: You must select a room assignment before you are able to select a meal plan.

Housing Selection Terms

Students receive their specific selection date and timeslot (based on anticipated credits for Fall 2024).

Students complete their student profile and sign the 24-25 Housing Contract.

A student’s ability to match with other students that have completed their Housing Application to create roommate/suitemate groups. All parties must match on their own self-service with each other to complete their group.

Students self-select their housing assignment for the 24-25 academic year.
