The Department of Education mandates institutions to publish a Cost of Attendance (COA). The COA is an estimate of expenses you can reasonably expect to pay in one year of attendance of a university. The COA includes both direct and indirect costs. Direct costs include charges paid directly to Queens, like tuition, fees, and room and board for students who live on campus. Indirect costs are other expenses that should be considered while enrolled, like books, supplies, and transportation costs.

A student’s actual costs may vary depending upon food and housing selections, course fees, and individual decisions about enrollment. Regardless of actual costs, your total financial aid may not exceed the stated Cost of Attendance.

Students interested in enrolling in the Queens ABSN program will need:

  • A bachelor’s degree
  • A TEAS exam with a passing grade of 65 or higher
  • A 3.0 or higher GPA in their most recent 3 semesters, or 30 credit hours (whichever is greater)
  • A 3.0 or higher GPA in the eight prerequisite courses the university requires:
    • Microbiology with lab
    • Human Anatomy & Physiology 1 with lab
    • Human Anatomy & Physiology 2 with lab
    • General Psychology
    • Developmental Psychology
    • Nutrition
    • Introductory Statistics of Social Sciences
    • Institution and Society

Admission to the BSN program is competitive, so staying ahead of deadlines is key! You’ll submit one application for both the university and nursing program, ensuring all materials—including transcripts—are in before the deadline. Applying early gives you time to double-check that everything is complete, as only fully submitted applications are reviewed. Decisions are typically released within six weeks of the deadline.
