Parliament of World Religions Conference
Parliament of World Religions Conference
A group of Queens students will travel to the 2023 Parliament of World Religions Conference.
“A Call to Conscience; Defending Freedom and Human Rights”
August 13-18, 2023
Chicago – Parliament of the World’s Religions
While attending the Parliament, students will participate in a variety of different programming events and breakout groups, allowing for the immersive parliament experience to educate and build connections with global representatives from diverse religious, spiritual, and secular traditions. Students will meet throughout the summer in preparation, then create a presentation of their learnings in the fall semester.
This experience will be integrated into the Belk Chapel’s fall programming to spread awareness to the Queens community about opportunities for interfaith dialogue and collaborative action.
“The Parliament of the World’s Religions cultivates harmony among the world’s spiritual traditions and fosters their engagement with guiding institutions in order to achieve a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world. Its origins are rooted in the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago, where the historic first convening of the World Parliament of Religions created a global platform for engagement of religions of the east and west. Headquartered in Chicago, Il, USA, the Parliament of the World’s Religions is an international 501(c)3 NGO affiliated with the United Nations Department of Public Information.” About Parliament of the World’s Religions – Parliament of the World’s Religions (parliamentofreligions.org)
