Identity-Based Resources

At Queens, we have a variety of students who bring their unique backgrounds, histories, and identities to our campus. PCIE believes in helping students lean into those identities both at Queens and abroad. Explore some of our identity-based resources to help you prepare before you go!

For all things study abroad, Queens students can access PCIE’s Canvas-based Learning page. Information and guidance about preparing for travel using these identity-based resources can be found on this page. Once on campus, please reach out to get access!

Exploring My Identity Abroad: Physical & Learning Differences

Although accessibility and accommodations for people with disabilities vary across the world, the PCIE wants to support you as you travel abroad, especially if those accommodations are disclosed early in the process. Please meet with your faculty, student accessibilities advisor, and/or JBIP advisor as soon as possible to start these discussions as accommodations may not be available or feasible closer to departure.

Students who would like additional support or the opportunity to explore their identity are encouraged to reach out to the Office of Student Accessibility Services.

Exploring My Identity Abroad: Student Athletes

Students who would like additional support or the opportunity to explore their identity are encouraged to reach out to your athletic-academic advisor and the PCIE to start discussions early about how to fit studying abroad into your athletic schedule.
